
Manny Barreras - Cabinet Secretary & State CIO
Manny Barreras serves as the Cabinet Secretary and State Chief Information Officer for the New Mexico Department of Information Technology (DoIT). Appointed by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham and confirmed by the New Mexico Senate in September 2024, Manny leads the state’s technology strategy and oversees an enterprise portfolio valued at more than $1 billion. His responsibilities include managing mission-critical public safety communications, statewide networking, cloud services, cybersecurity, and broadband expansion.
With over 26 years of experience in technology and public safety communications, Manny spent 19 years at Motorola Solutions, where he managed complex projects that provided secure voice, data, and video systems for state, local, and tribal agencies. During his tenure, he played a key role in securing more than $400 million in two-way radio communications and public safety technology investments.
